BushelIQ Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

BushelIQ is a litigation technology service operated from Illinois. This Privacy Policy describes how information is handled when you visit BushelIQ, maintain an account, or use its tools. For privacy questions or requests, contact alex@busheliq.com.

2. Information handled by BushelIQ

Account records include your email address, an internal account identifier, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status, plan information, and account and billing synchronization timestamps.

Stripe processes payments and manages subscriptions. BushelIQ's application database does not store full payment card numbers.

Usage records identify the account, tool, request timestamp, and usage-accounting metadata. These records support usage limits and service operation. Admitted requests may count toward usage limits even when processing fails.

Depending on the tool, you may provide documents, extracted text, questions, research searches, factual descriptions, clauses, filenames, and production metadata. Submitted information and generated results may contain personal, confidential, or privileged material.

Hosting, email, payment, and resource-delivery services also process technical information needed to deliver their services. If you contact BushelIQ, your communications are handled through the systems used to receive and respond to them.

3. Browser-local processing and storage

Flat File Viewer processing, Production Intelligence QC and report generation, Load File Generator output generation, and manual PDF redaction operate in your browser. AI-assisted Redaction scanning is temporarily unavailable; manual redaction does not send documents to Anthropic. Server-backed operations in other tools use the separate processing described below.

Clause Library saves clauses in browser local storage associated with your verified account. It is not a server-synchronized document repository. Saved clauses can remain after logout. You can remove the current account's saved library using its removal control or clear the browser's site data. Clearing site data may permanently remove locally saved work.

BushelIQ also uses browser storage for authentication credentials, plan information, and local usage counters. Uploaded files and results may remain in an open page's memory while you work.

The Production Tool can temporarily place production metadata in browser session storage for transfer to Load File Generator. This includes filenames, Bates information, document types, confidentiality labels, and page counts. The destination removes the handoff when consuming it and rejects stale handoffs; expiration checks are not a guarantee of background deletion.

Downloads and clipboard exports create copies under your control. Some viewer application resources are cached in the browser. Browser-local processing does not eliminate network requests for fonts, libraries, or other website resources.

4. Server and AI processing

Server-backed tools send information needed for the requested operation to Netlify-hosted functions. Depending on the feature, this may include PDF data, extracted text, questions, factual inputs, or production metadata.

AI-backed features send relevant content and instructions to Anthropic. Research features also send searches and filters to CourtListener. Searches may contain information supplied in or derived from your question.

The current application does not intentionally save submitted documents or generated results in its account and usage database, and it does not provide a general server-side work-product archive. This does not mean that every copy disappears immediately after processing. Providers, infrastructure, operational diagnostics, browser storage, downloads, and email systems may handle or retain information separately.

Submit content only when you are authorized to process it through the selected feature and its providers. Consider client instructions, protective orders, confidentiality duties, and professional responsibilities before submitting sensitive information.

5. Service providers

BushelIQ uses Anthropic for AI analysis and generation; CourtListener for legal-research searches and source material; Stripe for payments and subscription management; Supabase for account and usage records; Netlify for hosting and server-function execution; and Resend for authentication-email delivery. Google Fonts, cdnjs, and jsDelivr supply fonts and browser resources.

Providers receive information relevant to their role. Resend receives authentication-email addresses and content, including sign-in links. Anthropic receives content submitted for AI processing. Font and library services receive resource requests; the application does not intentionally upload documents to those delivery services. External libraries execute within the browser page.

Provider handling depends on applicable agreements and policies. This policy does not promise particular provider retention periods, training restrictions, hosting locations, or security certifications. Following external links also connects your browser to the destination service.

Information may additionally be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to address misuse, protect users, or establish or defend legal claims, subject to applicable law.

6. Retention and deletion

Account and usage records have no automatic deletion schedule. Applicable records are manually deleted. Canceling a subscription does not automatically delete account records, usage records, browser-local data, or provider-held copies.

Email alex@busheliq.com to request deletion. Verification of your identity and authority may be required. BushelIQ aims to process verified deletion requests within 30 days, subject to applicable legal and recordkeeping obligations and other lawful exceptions.

Deleting application records does not automatically erase downloads, browser data, email copies, provider records, or backups. Deletion from those systems depends on their capabilities and applicable requirements.

7. Security and authentication

BushelIQ uses signed authentication credentials, account and subscription verification, access controls, and usage limits. These measures cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or lost.

Treat sign-in links as credentials. The authentication page removes sensitive parameters from the visible URL after reading them, but this cannot erase the initial request already received or recorded by hosting or email infrastructure.

Protect your email account and devices, avoid sharing credentials, and exercise care on shared computers.

8. Requests and choices

Contact alex@busheliq.com to ask about your information, request corrections or deletion, or raise privacy concerns. Applicable rights and exceptions depend on the relevant law.

Manage browser-local information on the device where it is stored. Subscription cancellation and data deletion are separate actions.

9. Policy changes

The published policy will identify its effective date. Updates may reflect changes to the service or applicable obligations. An updated effective date will be published, and additional notice will be provided or acceptance obtained when required by applicable law.
