BushelIQ Terms of Service

1. About BushelIQ and these Terms

BushelIQ is a litigation technology service operated from Illinois. These Terms describe the conditions for using the service.

By accepting these Terms, you agree to comply with them. If acting for a firm or another organization, you must have authority to accept terms on its behalf.

2. Service and professional responsibility

BushelIQ provides tools for eDiscovery, contract intelligence, legal research, and litigation support. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not create an attorney-client relationship.

AI-generated and other automated results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your matter. Independently verify citations, quotations, deadlines, privilege determinations, redactions, production files, and other results before relying on or distributing them.

Reports do not certify that a production is complete, every issue has been identified, or an output satisfies a court order or receiving system's requirements. You remain responsible for professional judgment and compliance with applicable obligations.

3. Accounts and security

Provide accurate account information and protect your email, devices, sign-in links, and credentials. Do not share credentials or permit unauthorized access. Report suspected misuse to alex@busheliq.com.

Subscription-protected functions require successful account and subscription verification. Inactive status, verification failures, and service interruptions may prevent access.

4. Subscription and recurring billing

The BushelIQ subscription costs $79.99 USD per month, subject to applicable taxes and the billing terms presented at checkout. Stripe processes payments. Subscriptions renew monthly until canceled.

By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges through the selected payment method in accordance with the checkout terms.

BushelIQ offers 18 tool routes across browser-local utilities and subscription-protected workflows. An active subscription is required for server/AI processing; not every tool is subscription-exclusive. Tool access remains subject to capabilities, availability, and usage limits. It does not promise unlimited usage or access to unspecified future tools.

Payment problems that result in an inactive subscription may interrupt protected access. These Terms do not promise a payment-grace period or a particular retry schedule.

5. Cancellation and refunds

Cancel through Account → Manage billing, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cancellation through the portal takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Review the effective date shown in the portal and retain the cancellation confirmation.

Continued access requires active, verified subscription status and remains subject to usage limits and these Terms. Exceptional suspension or termination under these Terms, a change to inactive subscription status, or a verification failure may prevent access before that date.

There are no prorated or partial-month refunds, except where required by applicable law. Contact BushelIQ about billing errors or other billing concerns. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Cancellation does not automatically delete account records or local data. Refer to the Privacy Policy for deletion requests.

6. Usage limits and local features

Server tool requests are subject to an account-wide limit of 30 requests per rolling hour. Supplementary analyses can make separate requests, and admitted requests that subsequently fail may count. Tool-specific file-size, document-count, text-length, and other limits also apply.

Flat File Viewer and Production Intelligence operate locally. Load File Generator generates files locally and uses a browser-side usage gate. Manual PDF redaction is browser-local; AI-assisted scanning is temporarily unavailable. Clause Library saves data locally but requires verified account access.

These features do not establish a general free tier for server-backed processing. Do not bypass usage gates or access controls.

7. Your content and work product

You retain the rights you hold in submitted content. You must have authority to submit and process it through the providers used by your selected feature.

You authorize processing needed to provide the requested service, including relevant third-party processing described in the Privacy Policy. This does not transfer ownership of your underlying documents.

BushelIQ does not claim ownership of your work product. However, AI output is not guaranteed to be unique, eligible for copyright protection, or free of third-party rights. Respect applicable rights when using source material and results.

Keep your own copies of important work. BushelIQ is not a general document archive or backup service. Local browser storage may be lost or removed, and account deletion does not erase exported files or every provider-held copy.

8. Acceptable use

Do not submit information you are not authorized to access or process; violate laws, court orders, confidentiality obligations, or professional rules; fabricate evidence or knowingly misrepresent legal authorities; circumvent access controls or usage limits; introduce malicious code, disrupt operation, or conduct unauthorized security testing; resell or sublicense service access without permission; or copy or misuse protected platform software or materials, except as permitted by law.

Access may be restricted or suspended when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security concerns, legal obligations, or nonpayment, subject to applicable rights.

9. Platform intellectual property

Rights in the BushelIQ platform, interface, software, and associated materials remain with their respective rights holders. These Terms permit authorized use of the service; they do not transfer ownership of the platform.

10. Availability and changes

The service may be maintained, corrected, or changed. Features may be interrupted or unavailable. Uninterrupted operation and future functionality are not guaranteed.

Material changes to paid offerings or recurring prices will be communicated as required by law and applicable billing terms. Changes do not retroactively alter charges already incurred.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, uninterrupted availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement.

This provision does not exclude warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, liability arising from the service excludes indirect, incidental, special, consequential, and punitive damages.

Subject to liabilities that cannot lawfully be limited, total aggregate liability arising from these Terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid for BushelIQ in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Illinois law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Mandatory legal protections remain unaffected.

14. Changes to these Terms

Updated Terms will identify their effective date. Notice will be provided and acceptance obtained when required by applicable law. Changes will not retroactively alter accrued rights.
